Roadmap to Making a Difference - GRASSROOTS FUNDRAISING

As Live To Run Again grows, we rely on the dog community to help raise funds for our awareness campaign and programs like A.B.L.E. Below are just a few ideas on how individuals and dog clubs can host activities/events as grassroots fundraisers for LTRA.



“Audiobook Drive” to benefit ABLE

Collect audiobooks to contribute directly to your region’s ABLE Librarian or send them to LTRA to distribute to ABLE librarians around the country.

  1. •Promote to participants entered at your event to bring audiobooks to donate

  2. •Ask your family, friends and co-workers to contribute

  3. •If you hold training classes for the general public solicit audiobooks from them

  4. •Purchase CD/tapes from e-bay or your local public library and donate them to ABLE

                                   Subscriptions

For every 12 new subscribers LTRA refers, CR donates a one-year subscription for us to raffle. Agility Instructors and Clubs can promote new subscribers to include a comment that “LTRA referred” them. CR keeps track of each new subscription signed up through LTRA. We are grateful to CR’s for their varied sponsorship of LTRA from the beginning.

Dollar-An-Entry

Include a line on your trial/match Entry Form for exhibitors to donate a dollar to LTRA. Clubs can increase the value by

matching all or part of the proceeds raised from “dollar-an-entry”.

“Fun” Agility Runs

Proceeds from “fun runs” can be donated to LTRA.

  1. •If the venue permits, add a “special games” class at agility trials or offer it at show-n-go’s.

  2. •If you can’t add a “fun” class then promote a class for people to have some fun like wearing an “elaborate” Kentucky Derby hat! Participants can donate and spectators can donate to vote for the best hat.

Tent Decorating

At your next event host a “tent” decorating contest with

“driving” as a theme. Charge a fee for participating and

have spectators “donate” to vote for their favorite tent.

The “Winning Tent” then splits the proceeds 50/50 with

Proceeds from special prizes or 50/50 raffles are donated to LTRA
